Walking for a cause Robbie Edwards/ Register-News All walks of life come out to participate in the annual Child Abuse Prevention Walk on Thursday. Supporters of the cause walked laps around the Jefferson County Courthouse. Some of the walkers held hand crafted art made by area children others wore blue shirts and ribbons. Support even came from the on going traffic with the occasional honks and a waves. There was around 80 at the walk despite the weather. Mayor Mary Jane Chesley was also in attendance and signed a proclamation declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
