Mt. Vernon Police Department


Arrests

Alvan M. Taylor, 48, of the 2700 block of Jones, was arrested at 2:03 a.m. Monday on a charge of resisting/obstructing an officer. Bond was set at $1,000 and Taylor was released.

Angela M. Davenport, 17, of the 900 block of Welkins Avenue, was arrested at 3:53 p.m. Monday on a charge of battery. Davenport was released.

Clifton B. Bolling, 23, of the 2100 block of Lamar Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving while licensed suspended or revoked. Bolling was released.

Theft

A resident of the 1300 block of Harrison Street, reported a theft of his debit card at 4:42 p.m. Monday.

Someone reported to police at 5:52 p.m. Monday that his medications were stolen while he was parked at the Circle K, 2701 Broadway.

A resident of the 1200 block of Veterans Memorial Drive reported a electrical meter stolen at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Someone from the 4000 block of Willow Springs reported at 12 p.m. Tuesday her front door was kicked in and some items missing.

Incidents

A resident of the 500 block of South 18th Street reported at 7:10 p.m. Monday that someone keeps damaging her front porch.

An employee of St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital requested an officer to speak with a battered victim in the emergency room at 9:27 p.m. Monday.

Someone from the 1200 block of Veterans Memorial Drive requested an officer at 12:21 a.m. Tuesday due to underage subjects refusing to leave her party. As officers approached the residence, two subjects fled on foot and were detained, logs stated. Additional officers were also requested due to the unruly nature of one detainee. The detainee was cited for underage consumption.

SCT reported a disorderly female on the bus at 11:07 a.m. Tuesday. Logs state no contact was made with the subject, but SCT had banned her from the bus.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department


Arrests

Jordan D. Collins, 17, of the 3000 block of South Benton Road, was arrested at 2:48 a.m. Monday on a charge of contempt of court.

Charity L. Heck, 22, of the 1100 block of Gaskins Avenue, was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Monday on a charge of deceptive practice. Bond for Heck was set at $5,000.

Gregory C. Blackford, 18, of the 18800 block of Illinois 15, was arrested at 3:14 p.m. Monday on a charge of aggravated battery in a public place.

Donald E. Cockran, 72, Eldorado, was arrested at 7:58 p.m. Monday on a charge of contempt of court.

Theft

Someone from the 800 block of Warren Avenue reported at 8:12 a.m. Monday that someone broke into a vehicle at Burwell Motors and stole a stereo.

A Pepsi machine was reported broken into at 8:25 a.m. Monday near the 2700 block of Benton Road. According to logs, city police had also reported a similar incident near Soapy Joes.

A driver reported at 11:10 a.m. Monday that while his semi was parked at the Woodlawn Shell gas station, someone stole fuel from his truck.

Fire

A fire was reported in the 20000 block of North Boyd Lane, Dix, at 6:44 p.m. Monday.

Incidents

The Mt. Vernon Police Department reported to the sheriff’s department at 7:03 p.m. Monday that a black pickup as dumping trash in the area of the bridge on Harlan Road.

Two black horses were reported in a garage in the 22000 block of East Maple Road, Bluford, at 1:02 a.m. Tuesday.

A report was received at 2:01 a.m. Tuesday that kids were beating up a soda machine at Kas Rentals.

Criminal damage to property was reported in the 22000 block of East Maple Road at 2:09 a.m. Tuesday.
