City Police

Arrests

David D. Weatherall, 18, of the 300 block of Helkin in Bonnie was arrested at 5:16 a.m. Tuesday on charges of resisting a peace officer and driving under the influence. Bond was set at $4,000.

Joshua L. Cates, 20, of the 9000 block of North Forbes Lane, was arrested at 8:53 p.m. Monday on charges of burglary.

Vickie L. Anthis, 37, of the 2400 block of Perkins Avenue, was arrested at 8:56 p.m. Monday on charges of retail theft.

Thefts

Police received a report at 4:05 p.m. Monday that a cell phone had been taken from a person in the area of 22nd and Logan Streets.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 4:07 p.m. Monday from the 1700 block of South 12th Street.

A resident in the 1000 block of South 22nd Street reported at 4:40 p.m. Monday that a concrete elephant had been stolen.

Police received a report at 6:47 p.m. Monday that two men had entered a vehicle parked at the Huck’s Convenience Store on South 10th Street and taken items.

A shoplifter was reported in custody at Kroger at 7:45 p.m. Monday.

Police received a report at 12:14 a.m. Tuesday that a cell phone was stolen from a vehicle while it was parked at Denny’s Restaurant.

Incidents

Police received a report at 2:06 p.m. Monday that Pepsi machines at Lincoln Park had been damaged.

A report that a man was waving a gun from a Blue Suburban in the 2200 block of College Street was received by police at 2:32 p.m. Monday.

Police received a report from a 911 caller at 3:06 p.m. Monday near Clean and Classy Detail that a hit and run had happened. Police located the suspect vehicle in the 1500 block of South 12th Street, and the driver fled on foot to be apprehended a few blocks away.

Rocks were reported thrown at a house in the 400 block of South 22nd Street at 9:38 p.m. Monday.

Residents in the 300 block of Marteeny Street reported to police at 11:30 p.m. Monday that a Ultima was driving through the neighborhood knocking over trash cans. According to reports, police found evidence trash cans had also been knocked over on Stinson and Beacon Court.

A resident in the 300 block of South Eighth Street reported hearing fireworks at 12:04 a.m. Tuesday.

A police officer reported a go-cart in the road near 17th and Logan Streets at 12:36 p.m. Tuesday and requested the vehicle be towed from the area.

Arrests


Joseph Welch, 18, of the 200 block of West North Avenue in Bluford, was arrested at 12:37 a.m. Tuesday on charges of domestic battery.

Leah B. Goree, 17, of the 12200 block of East Hutchison Road, was arrested at 4:42 p.m. Monday on charges of criminal trespass to land.

Incidents

A resident in the 20300 block of Pheasant Road in Bluford reported at 9:31 a.m. Tuesday that about 50 cows from Farraway Farms were out and on his property.

An employee of the Jefferson County Highway Department reported at 5:15 p.m. Monday that a motorcycle and two 4-wheelers were jumping and riding on the county rock pile on North Campground Lane.
