Mt. Vernon Police Department

Arrests

Larry G. Whitford, 43, of Richmond Hill, Ga., was arrested at 7:34 a.m. Wednesday on an in-state warrant. Bond for Whitford has been set at $1,000.

Kevin H. Brown, 24, of Chicago, was arrested at 1:07 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of a controlled substance.

Tracey S. Williams, 18, of the 2000 block of Richview Road, was arrested at 3:21 p.m. Wednesday on charges of battery and disorderly conduct. Bond for Williams has been set at $1,000.

Thefts

Police received a report at 3:03 p.m. Wednesday that a maintenance worker stole $100 from America’s Best Inns.



Incidents

A report was made at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday that property had been damaged at ABC Self Storage on South 30th Street.

A report was made at 9:48 a.m. Thursday that someone was battered at Mount Vernon Township High School.



Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department

Arrests

Billy J. Hails, 51, of the 15600 block of North Fairdrive Lane in Woodlawn, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Thursday on charges of domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

Incidents

The Sheriff’s office received a report at 8:26 p.m. Wednesday that two semi-truck tires were on fire off of I-57 near Ina.
