Mt. Vernon Police Department

Arrests

Darius D. Sprinkles, 21, of the 1700 block of S. 17th Street, was arrested at 8:10 p.m. Thursday on charges of mob action and possession of cannabis between 50-300 grams.

Kwame J. James, 25, of the 400 block of S. 17th Street, was arrested at 8:46 p.m. Thursday on charges of robbery, mob action and possession of cannabis between 30-500 grams.

Ernest L. Ossig, 48, of Madison, Tenn., was arrested at 1:16 a.m. Friday on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Bond was set at $1,000 and Ossig was released.

Thefts

Thursday at 5:22 p.m., a report was made that an X-Box was stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Casey Avenue.

At 5:45 a.m. Friday, police received a report of items stolen from a garage at a residence in the 1100 block of Maple Street.

Police received a report at 7:18 a.m. Friday of a bicycle stolen from a residence in the 100 block of N. 7th Street.

Incidents

At 5:17 p.m. Thursday police received a report of forgery for prescriptions of a resident in the 4300 block of Rose Lane.

Police responded to a report at 2:32 a.m. Friday of an attempted robbery in the 2400 block of Cherry Street.

At 8:24 a.m. Friday, police received a report of a bullet hole through a window in a residence in the 1600 block of Pace Avenue.

At 11:35 a.m. Friday, police received a report of two dogs running loose and chasing residents in the 1400 block of S. 34th Street. The dogs, a white German Shepherd and a reddish Chow Chow, were apprehended by the animal warden.



Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests

Keith L. Harris, 30, of the 600 block of S. 16th Street, was arrested 7:51 p.m. Thursday on charges of aggravated battery in public and mob action. Bond was set at $20,000.

Peter Kennedy, 23, of Chicago, was arrested at 3:44 p.m. Thursday on a charge of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school or church. Bond was set at $25,000.

Thefts

Police received a report on Thursday at 3:26 p.m. at the 800 block of Homestead Road in Dix that a door had been stolen off a shed.

Incidents

Police responded to a call 6:28 p.m. Thursday that a car was on fire in the parking lot of Porter Automotive, 2210 Benton Road.
