Alvin G. Chelf, 42, Bonnie, was formally charged Tuesday with unlawful possession of meth-manufacturing materials. Records state on March 16, the defendant had in his possession Draino, liquid fire and lithium batteries — ingredients purchased with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

n Terry Metts Sr., 49, of the 1200 block of South 23rd Street, was formally charged March 13 with domestic battery and interference with the reporting of domestic violence. Records state on March 12, Metts allegedly grabbed a female family member by the neck and drug her on a floor, and he interfered with the report of domestic violence in that he prevented the victim from calling the Mt. Vernon Police Department by damaging telephone lines and taking the victim’s cell phone.

n Rachel N. Garcia, 20, of the 3100 block of Blackberry, was formally charged March 14 with domestic battery. Records state on Feb. 28 the defendant struck a family female member about the body.

n Cierra M. Ball, 19, of the 1800 block of College Street, was formally charged March 14 with retail theft. Records state on Feb. 15 the defendant took several items from Walmart with a retail value of less than $300.

n Heidi Hollensbie, 54, of the 1400 block of Salem Road, was formally charged Monday with disorderly conduct. Records state on March 14 the defendant threatened to cut the throat of a man.

Dispositions

Julie A. Clark, 42, of the 16000 block of East Liberty Road, pleaded guilty Wednesday to theft over $500. She was sentenced to two years’ conditional discharge, to make restitution, and to pay court fines.

n Lashawn D. Golliday, 40, of the 200 block of South 15th Street, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a disorderly conduct charge. The defendant was sentenced to three years to the Illinois Department of Corrections and to pay court costs. A charge of aggravated domestic battery was dismissed, according to court records.

n Melissa J. Miller, 46, of the 1100 block of South 23rd Street, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of possession of meth more than 5 grams. She was sentenced to two years’ probation and to pay court costs.

n Mukarram A. Mushambay-El, 52, of the 3400 block of Veterans Memorial Drive, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of aggravated domestic battery. He was sentenced to six years to the Illinois Department of Corrections and to pay court fines.

n Lashanda R. Webb, 39, Urbana, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a second offense of retail theft over $300. She was sentenced to 18 months’ to the Illinois Department of Corrections and to pay court costs.

n Steve R. Austin, 29, of the 3400 block of Westmont, pleaded guilty Monday to charges of battery and criminal damage to property over $300. He was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge to run concurrently on both charges, to make restitution, and to pay court fines.

n Tyler J. May 22, Bluford, pleaded guilty March 15 to a charge of possession of cannabis more than 2.5 grams. He was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge and to pay court fines.

n Tiffany N. Scott, 19, of the 200 block of South Second Street, pleaded guilty March 15 to a charge of battery. She was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge and to pay court fines.

n James G. Snyder, 38, Bonnie, pleaded guilty March 15 to a charge of unlawful disposition of a title/certificate/plate. He was sentenced to one year conditional discharge and to pay court fines.

n Oresta L. Washington, 38, of the 17000 block of Main Street, pleaded guilty March 15 to a charge of possession of cannabis more than 2.5 grams. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge, to serve 49 hours of public service, and to pay court costs.

n Keir L. Shorts, 32, Murphysboro, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. The defendant was sentenced to one year conditional discharge, to alcohol treatment and to pay court fines.

n Jordan L. Thompson, 22, Dix, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of driving under the influence. The defendant was sentenced to two years’ supervision, to perform 100 hours of public service, and to pay court fines.
