Arrests

Chantiese S. Woods, 22, of the 400 block of South 15th Street, was arrested at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of driving while license suspended/revoked.

n Sherlisa R. Harris, 20, of the 4000 block of Willow Springs, was arrested at 5 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for endangering the life/safety of a child.

n Noel S. Christensen, 42, of the 1200 block of South 25th Street, was arrested at 9:39 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of disorderly conduct.

n Marlon J. Bowen, 31, of Corrigan, Texas, was arrested at 9:41 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of having an expired driver’s license.

Incidents

An employee of Crossroads Community Hospital told police at 1:03 p.m. Tuesday they were treating a juvenile for an alleged battery that reportedly occurred at school.

n A woman told police at 6:53 p.m. Tuesday a man known to her stopped her car and allegedly struck the woman in the face. Officers located the offender, but not arrest was made.

n An officer was flagged down at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Perkins Avenue by a man alleging he had been battered at the intersection of Ninth and Bell streets, and shots had been fired.

n A man requested an officer at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 22nd Street and Lamar Avenue alleging he had been chased and nearly battered by a group of eight- to-nine male subjects, including one who allegedly brandished a knife. The victim refused to provide police with a location of his whereabouts. Police checked the area and did not locate the victim or the perpetrators.

Arrests

Dashahn A. Hinds, 25, of the 200 block of Jones Street, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia and on charges of possession of cannabis and violation of bail bond.

n John R. Powell, 27, Texico, was arrested at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday on two counts of violation of bail bond, unlawful use of a blackjack/knife, and disorderly conduct.

Incidents

Authorities received a report at 7:38 a.m. Wednesday of a burglary attempt at a residence in the 19000 block of East Illinois Highway 15. The reporting person said a sliding door was found open and a window screen had been ripped.

n Police received a report at 8:48 a.m. Wednesday of an attempted burglary in the 19000 block of East Fairfield Road. The homeowner reported someone attempted to make entry to the residence by taking a screen off a window.
