Alfred Jones, 61, of the 1000 block of South 21st Street, was arrested at 2:43 p.m. Wednesday on charges of aggravated battery and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
A woman reported at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday checks were stolen from a residence in the 500 block of South 21st Street and cashed at a local business.
n An employee of United Taxi told authorities at 12:39 p.m. Wednesday the company took a male subject to several liquor stores, which weren’t open, and the subject was unable to pay his fare. The company also took him to a bank, but he was unable to withdraw money to pay for the fare. Police took an informational report.
n A man told police at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday a bicycle was taken from a residence in the 1000 block of South 21st Street.
A resident police at 4 p.m. Wednesday his home in the 800 block of South 21st Street had been burglarized.

Elizabeth Thackrey, 35, of the 2500 block of Herbert Street, was arrested at 10:01 p.m. Wednesday on charges of violation of an order of protection, domestic battery and criminal damage to property.
n Zachery Maltman, 24, Centralia, was arrested at 2:16 a.m. Thursday on a charge of violation of bail bond.
A Mt. Vernon man reported at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday a male relative took money from him and then took his truck from the 6800 block of Matisse Lane. A pursuit ensued on Illinois Highway 37, into Woodlawn before local authorities lost the subject. Police logs indicate the driver of the truck was involved in a traffic accident at the B.P. service station in Ashley. The subject was taken into custody although jail records did not indicate the subject had been incarcerated locally.
