Charges filed:

Gregory S. Swan, 44, of the 2500 block of Brownsville Road, was formally charged Jan. 28 with domestic battery. The charge alleges on Jan. 3 the defendant grabbed his girlfriend by the face.

n Sarah R. Ellis, 18, of the 13000 block of North Chestnut Lane, was formally charged Jan. 28 with possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis. The charges allege the defendant on Dec. 22 possessed a glass pipe with the intent to inhale cannabis; the defendant had more than 2.5, but not more than 10 grams of a substance containing cannabis.

n Jesse A. Johnson, 19, of the 900 block of South 20th Street, was formally charged Jan. 28 with possession of liquor by a minor and consumption of alcoholic liquor. The charge alleges the minor consumed alcohol on Dec. 27.

n Lacy L. Roland, 24, Fenton, Mo., was formally charged Jan. 28 with retail theft. The charge alleges on Dec. 20 the defendant took an Answer Ovulation Test from Kroger without paying for the merchandise.

n Janea S. Gardner, 21, of the 300 block of South 19th Street, was formally charged on Jan. 31 with criminal trespass to land and disorderly conduct. The charges allege the defendant on Jan. 31 remained on property in the 2400 block of Logan Street after told to leave; and she threatened to physically harm the homeowner and wrote profanities on her vehicle.

n Claude E. Kirkwood, 54, Centralia, was formally charged Tuesday with domestic battery. The charge alleges the defendant on Jan. 30 struck his wife in the face with an open hand. Records state the defendant has a prior domestic battery conviction.

n Somer M. Lowery, 32, of the 1200 block of South 27th Street, was formally charged on Tuesday with domestic battery. The charge alleges the defendant on Feb. 1 threw a cordless telephone at her live-in boyfriend, striking him on the right side of the head.

n Steve G. Wilson, 39, of the 5700 block of Richview Road, was formally charged on Tuesday with possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis. The charges allege on Monday the defendant possessed a white pipe with the intent to inhale cannabis; and he had not more than 2.5 grams of a substance containing cannabis in his possession.

n Donald W. Cochrane, 23, of the 200 block of North Birch Street, was formally charged Thursday with violation of an order of protection. The charge alleges on Dec. 20 the defendant made contact with a woman protected by the order via telephone.

Dispositions:

Cody R. Tate, 20, of the 300 block of North Fourth Street, pleaded guilty Tuesday to obstructing justice. He was sentenced to 30 months of conditional discharge.

n Vanessa A. McAtee, 36, of the 800 block of Pace Avenue, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two amended charges of possession of a controlled substance. She was sentenced to two years of probation to run concurrently on each charge, in addition to a retail theft charge from 2011.

n Darnell A. Maxey, 20, of the 300 block of South 24th Street. pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm. He was sentenced to four years of probation and given credit for 138 days served.

n John W. Phillips, 49, of the 16000 block of North Illinois Highway 37, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of possession of meth manufacturing materials. He was sentenced to two years of probation. Two charges of possession of meth were dismissed.

n Julian M. Payne, 28, Benton, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of theft less than $300. He was sentenced to two years to the Department of Corrections and given credit for 89 days served.

n Jessica L. Vaughn, 26, of the 900 block of Welkins, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of theft less than $300. She was sentenced to 30 months of conditional discharge and was given credit for 24 days served.

n Daniel Cortes-Reyes, 36, of the 3400 block of Veterans Memorial Drive, pleaded guilty Tuesday to an amended charge of manufacture/delivery of 1 to 15 grams of cocaine. He was sentenced to serve 15 years in the Department of Corrections and given credit for 85 days served. Reyes was also sentenced to serve 10 years in prison on a charge of possession of a controlled substance near a school, church or park.

n Lee D. Thomas, 31, of the 900 block of South 12th Street, pleaded guilty Monday to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge.

n Tyson R. Gaunt, 28, of the 1900 block of Broadway, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to one year of conditional discharge.

n John A. Stonecipher, 56, Waltonville, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams. He was sentenced to one year of court supervision and 40 hours of public service.

n Jarcus D. Croft, 34, of the 900 block of Cleveland, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of domestic battery. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation and given credit for 17 days served.

n Jacob M. Urbowicz, 21, of the 16000 block of North Illinois Highway 37, pleaded guilty Jan. 31 to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge.
