Charges filed:

Dustin M. Davis, 25, Brunson, S.C., was formally charged Feb. 26 with resisting a peace officer and criminal trespass to real land. The charges allege the defendant entered a business in the 2400 block of Broadway after he received previous notice that entry was forbidden and in the course of his arrest, he pulled away from officers while they attempted to handcuff the defendant.

n Berandine A. Gargas, 47, Opdyke, was formally charged Feb. 27 with violation of an owner’s duties, a Class B misdemeanor. The charge alleges on Jan. 27 the defendant failed to provide adequate shelter and protection for a dog from the weather in allowing the dog to be exposed to dangerous freezing temperatures.

n Blake A. Storment, 25, of the 400 block of Belle Street, was formally charged Feb. 27 with residential burglary and possession of firearm ammunition without a FOID card. The burglary charge alleges on Feb. 21 the defendant entered a residence in Waltonville with the intent to commit a theft.

n Gerald A. Bizallian, 18, of the 900 block of South 27th Street, was formally charged Feb. 27 with residential burglary and possession of firearm ammunition without a FOID card. The burglary charge alleges on Feb. 21 the defendant entered a residence in Waltonville with the intent to commit a theft.

n Levi Campbell, 18, of Evergreen Drive, was formally charged Feb. 28 with retail theft. The charge alleges on Feb. 27 the defendant took merchandise at Kmart, with a value of less than $300, and the defendant has prior burglary convictions in Jefferson County.

n Deshawon Washington, 23, of the 800 block of South 19th Street, was formally charged Feb. 28 with criminal trespass to land. The charges alleges on Feb. 18 the defendant remained on property in the 4100 block of Willow Springs after being banned from the property.

n Craig S. Nelson, 39, of the 1700 block of Warren Avenue, was formally charged Tuesday with domestic battery. The charge alleges on Sunday the defendant punched and slapped his live-in girlfriend in the head and face and the defendant has a prior conviction of domestic battery in Jefferson County.

n Paul D. Brown, 25, Mt. Vernon, was formally charged on Tuesday with criminal damage to property. The charge alleges on Feb. 28 the defendant damaged the hood of a woman’s car with a brick.

n Jerry M. Hill, 31, of the 1000 block of Belle Street, was formally charged Tuesday with unlawful possession of cannabis. The charge alleges on Feb. 21 the defendant possessed more than 2.5 grams, but not more than 10 grams, of a substance containing cannabis.

n Brian Brewster, 48, of the 10000 block of North Puckett Lane, was formally charged Wednesday with unlawful purchase of a meth precursor without a prescription. The charge alleges on Aug. 18 the defendant purchased psudoephedrine without a prescription.

n Tasha D. Hammond, 30, Woodlawn, was formally charged Wednesday with criminal damage to property. The charge alleges on July 25 the defendant damaged a purse, cell phone and other items belonging to another woman without the victim’s consent.

n Brooke A. Braden, 26, Bluford, was formally charged Thursday with retail theft. The charge alleges on Jan. 17 the defendant took merchandise, with a value in excess of $300, from Walmart and the defendant has a prior theft conviction in Jefferson County.

n Jimmy L. Lancaster, 47, of the 300 block of Castleton Avenue, was formally charged Thursday with domestic battery. The charge alleges on Feb. 5 the defendant grabbed his girlfriend by the shoulders and slammed her into a door.

Dispositions

Demetrius J. Hernandez, 20, St. Louis, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of residential burglary. He was sentenced to six years to the Department of Corrections. A charge of resisting police was dismissed.

n Adam J. Pisula, 24, of the 15000 block of East Fairfield Road, pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges of domestic battery and possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to two years of intensive probation and 30 hours of public service. A charge of unlawful restraint was dismissed.

n Robert C. Taylor, 48, of the 900 block of South 25th Street, pleaded guilty Thursday to a charge of domestic battery. He was sentenced to 364 days in jail and one year of conditional discharge. A charge of criminal trespass to state land was dismissed.

n John F. Twiggs, 47, of the 200 block of Casey Avenue, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of driving under the influence while license suspended/revoked. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail and three years of conditional discharge.

n Mindy A. Wilson, 40, of the 17000 block of North Steel Lane, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of receipt of goods/services over $150. She was sentenced to 30 months of conditional discharge and ordered to make restitution.
