Arrests

Orlando Dotts, 19, of the 2700 block of Jones Street, was arrested at 2:31 p.m. Friday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

n Antonio Rayford, 41, of the 1700 block of South 15th Street, was arrested at 11:54 p.m. Friday on a charge of violation of an order of protection.

n Diamante Carpenter, 20, of the 700 block of 19th Street, was arrested at 1:19 a.m. Sunday on a charge of driving without ever having been issued a license.

n Brandy Shaw, 28, of Wayne City, was arrested at 4:54 a.m. Sunday on charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.

n Tony Feggins, 20, of the 2200 block of Casey Avenue, was arrested at 5:07 a.m. Sunday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

n James Lomax, 22, of the 600 block of South 18th Street, was arrested at 8:31 p.m. Sunday on a charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Incidents

A male caller told police at 7:05 a.m. Friday there was a busted side door at his business in the 2400 block of Broadway.

n A female caller reported to police at 8:11 a.m. Friday her purse was stolen from her car while it was parked in the 400 block of North Street.

n Police responded to a report of a business burglary at 8:17 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of Main Street.

n A man told police at 2:04 p.m. Friday his sister had battered him. The incident occurred in the 600 block of South 22nd Street.

n A woman told police at 5:52 p.m. Friday a man burglarized her vehicle and ran away. The incident took place in the 1700 block of Conger Avenue.

n A resident reported to police at 8:01 p.m. Friday his home in the 300 block of Castleton Avenue was burglarized. A TV and DVD player were reported stolen.

n Church members reported to police at 8:04 p.m. Saturday finding damage related to weapons being discharged at a church in the 1300 block of South Ninth Street.

n Multiple callers reported hearing gunshots at 1:13 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of South 25th Street. No injuries were reported.

n A subject reported at 3:08 p.m. Sunday a domestic violence incident in the 700 block of Lamar Avenue. A male perpetrator had reportedly struck a pregnant female, according to the call received. However, officers were unable to locate anyone involved in a dispute.

Thefts

A female caller told police at 12:41 p.m. Friday five checks were missing from her checkbook. The woman lives in the 1900 block of Lake Street.

n A man reported to police at 5:38 p.m. Friday his debit card was stolen. The victim lives in the 1000 block of South 17th Street.

n A woman told police at 12:37 a.m. Saturday her pit bull was stolen by a man known to her. The incident took place in the 900 block of Wescott Street.

n A subject reported to police at 4:48 p.m. Saturday a tablet was stolen from a porch in the unit block of Beech Drive.

n A man told police at 5:14 p.m. Saturday some items were missing from his residence in the 600 block of South 15th Street.

n A subject informed police two male juveniles may have stolen Halloween candy from carts sitting in front of a store in the 400 block of Broadway.

n A female employee told police at 10:37 a.m. Sunday a drive-off had occurred at a gas station in the 100 block of South 44th Street. A total of $39.50 in gasoline was stolen.

n A woman told police at 11:27 a.m. Sunday a male suspect stole two to three packs of cigarettes from a store in the 600 block of Salem Road.

n A woman requested an officer at 6:15 p.m. Sunday after a man stole her purse in the 800 block of South 17th Street.

n A man told police at 8:19 p.m. Sunday two male juveniles had entered his truck and stole his wallet. The incident took place in the 900 block of South 20th Street.

Fire

Authorities responded to a possible structure fire at 5:28 a.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of South Ninth Street. Residents had reported smelling something burning. Firefighters located burning wiring in an attic area and the fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported.

Arrests

Linda Smart, 23, of the 16500 block of North Illinois Highway 37, was arrested at 9:11 a.m. Friday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

n Loyd Finley, 71, of Salem, was arrested at 6:39 p.m. Friday on charges of bringing cannabis into a penal institution and violation of bail bond.

n Steven Houseworth, 26, of Carbondale, was arrested at 11:43 a.m. Friday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

n Rebecca Jones, 19, of Ina was arrested at 2:19 p.m. Friday on a charge of domestic battery/physical contact.

n Matthew Wilson, 20, of Ina was arrested at 2:26 p.m. Friday on a charge of domestic battery/physical contact.

n Jesse Allen, 26, of the 900 block of Ellis Drive, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Friday on a charge of criminal trespass to residence.

n Savannah Penland, 19, of Woodlawn, was arrested at 3:56 p.m. Saturday, on a charge of theft.

n Camille Darden, 23, of Centralia, was arrested at 5:16 a.m. Sunday on a charge of driving under the influence.

n Darnell Maxey, 20, of the 1700 block of South 12th Street, was arrested at 6:21 a.m. Sunday on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card and resistance to an officer.

Incident

A woman reported to police at 9:34 p.m. Friday a home invasion had taken place at her residence in the 15800 block of East Fairfield Road. She told authorities a man unknown to her had entered her home. The perpetrator may have been schizophrenic and off his medication, the police logs state.

Fire

Authorities responded to a report of a pick-up truck on fire at 8:26 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 64, westbound between Mt. Vernon and Woodlawn. Police found no one with the vehicle and it had no license plates.
