Charges filed:

Steven W. Graham, 23, of the 500 block of South 22nd Street, was formally charged March 25 with resisting a peace officer. The charge alleges on Feb. 22 the defendant refused to release a woman after repeated commands by an officer to do so.

n Brandon F. Page, 34, of the 400 block of South 22nd Street, was formally charged Tuesday with deceptive practice. The charge alleges on Jan. 11 the defendant delivered bad checks to Casey’s in the amount of $637 knowing the charges would not be paid by the depository.

n Mary E. Karnes, 48, of the 17000 block of North Tolle Lane, was formally charged on Tuesday with aggravated driving under the influence. The charge alleges the defendant operated a vehicle on April 4 while under the influence while not possessing a valid driver’s license.

n Damondrae E. James, 19, of the 1600 block of South 12th Street, was formally charged Wednesday with aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and two counts of aggravated unlawful use of weapons. The charges allege on Oct. 9, 2013, the defendant carried a pistol with a valid FOID card and discharged the weapon outside a residence in the 800 block of South 21st Street. Further, the charges allege the defendant possessed a 9mm Ruger SR 9 handgun with the knowledge it had been stolen and the defendant was engaged in the offense of unlawful possession of cannabis of not more than 2.5 grams while in possession of a weapon.

n Darryl M. Long, 27, of the 800 block of South 20th Street, was formally charged Friday with obstruction of a police officer. The charge alleges on Wednesday the defendant ignored repeated commands to step aside while a detective affected an arrest.

n Angelo D. Long, 37, of the 900 block of South 23rd Street, was formally charged Friday with unlawful failure to report as a sex offender. The charge alleges on Wednesday the defendant failed to report within 90 days to the Mt. Vernon Police Department and this is the second violation of the sex registration act.

Dispositions:

Cottrell C. Goodwin, 19, of the 700 block of South 21st Street, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams. He was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge.

n Noel S. Christensen, 43, of the 1200 block of South 25th Street, pleaded guilty April 3 to a charge of disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to court supervision for one year.

n Deandrea N. Rudd, 21, of the 4000 block of Willow Springs, pleaded guilty April 3 to a charge of theft under $500. She was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge.

n Semaj L. Sharkey, 22, of the 400 block of Liebengood Road, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of possession of cannabis between 2.5 and 10 grams. He was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge.

n Aaron T. Crump, 23, of the 1900 block of South Eighth Street, pleaded guilty Wednesday to an amended charge of criminal defacement of property. He was sentenced to two years of conditional discharge.

n Alton Curtis, 27, of the 300 block of North Fourth Street, pleaded guilty Tuesday to an amended charge of domestic battery. He was sentenced to two years of conditional discharge.

n Joseph D. Webb, 32, of the 600 block of South 22nd Street, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of purchase of a meth precursor. He was ordered to pay court fines, according to court records.

n Marcelus A. Teasley, 21, Stone Park, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of theft under $500. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail and 30 months of probation.

n Charles L. Whipple, 43, Woodlawn, pleaded guilty April 3 to a charge of domestic battery. He was sentenced to 18 months to the Department of Corrections.

n Quavarus G. Jackson, 21, of the 1000 block of Forest Avenue, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of theft under $300. He was sentenced to one year to the Department of Corrections.

n Bryar W. Belmont, 19, Bluford, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of burglary. He was sentenced to four years of probation. A charge of theft under $500 was dismissed.

n Charity E. Toler, 38, of the 800 block of North Street, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of identity theft less than $300. She was sentenced to 30 months of conditional discharge and ordered to make restitution to the victim.
