Arrests

Michael Boling, 32, of the 1500 block of Herbert Street, was arrested at 3:51 a.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

n Rebecka Castro, 41, of the 1100 block of Gaskins Avenue, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of probation violation.

n Tammie Pepple, 40, of the 1000 block of Oakland Avenue, was arrested at 3:22 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

n Miguel Hernandez, 37, of the 1200 block of Cherry Street, was arrested at 9:04 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of disorderly conduct.

n Vennis Brown, 20, of the 1400 block of South 34th Street, was arrested at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of obstructing identification.

n Christopher Henzman, 29, of Newburgh, Ind., was arrested at 10:57 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

n Christopher Hardig, 24, of the 800 block of Dewey Avenue, was arrested at 8:12 p.m. Thursday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

n Jerry Sandy, 39, of the 600 block of North Street, was arrested at 9:37 a.m. Friday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

n James Salter, 29, of Bluford, was arrested at 9:24 a.m. Friday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

n Jacqueline Dunn, 43, of the 800 block of South 12th Street, was arrested at 11:05 p.m. Friday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

n Billy Patterson, 35, of Nason, was arrested at 11:57 p.m. Friday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

n Gregory Morrison, 29, of the 700 block of Dewey Avenue, was arrested at 4:16 a.m. Saturday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

n Nevin Hoben, 19, of the 1800 block of Pace Avenue, was arrested at 9:10 a.m. Saturday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

n Damien McDonald, 29, of the 3400 block of Westmont Street, was arrested at 11:32 a.m. Saturday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

n Amy Morgan, 41, of the 4300 block of Rose Lane, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Saturday on a charge of retail theft.

n Vincent Justice, 25, of the 2500 block of College Street, was arrested at 4:47 p.m. Saturday on a charge of having a driver’s license that has been expired for more than a year.

n Shane Williford, 40, of the 1400 block of South 12th Street, was arrested at 9:50 p.m. Saturday on a charge of driving on a revoked license.

n Michael Ellis, 37, of the 1300 block of South 26th Street, was arrested at 11:46 p.m. Saturday on charges of meth delivery, obstructing justice/destroying evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

n Dennis Coomer, 28, of the 1100 block of South 25th Street, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. Sunday on a charge of resisting/obstructing an officer.

n Connie Deveau, 50, of the unit block of Hillcrest Drive, was arrested at 2:41 a.m. Sunday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

n Ryan Crowder, 22, of the 1600 block of Isabella Avenue, was arrested at 2:26 p.m. Sunday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

n Derek Culver, 35, of Granite City, was arrested at 4:59 p.m. Sunday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

n Kandi McCormick, 27, of the 100 block of East Casey Avenue, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. Monday on a charge of domestic battery/physical contact.

Incidents

A woman told police at 11:48 a.m. Friday her car was burglarized in the 2200 block of Cherry Street.

n A man informed police at 12:57 p.m. Friday he saw a man grabbing a woman by the arm in the 1100 block of Gaskins Avenue. The man believed it was a physical altercation. Both people involved in the incident denied it was a physical altercation.

n A woman told police at 3:52 p.m. Friday she came home to find her door kicked in. The incident took place in the 1400 block of North 17th Street.

n A woman and a man had an argument at 9:04 p.m. Friday that escalated into a physical altercation. The incident occurred at a restaurant in the 4600 block of Broadway.

n A man reported to police at 1:24 a.m. Saturday a male suspect was battering a woman in the 900 block of Cleveland Street.

n A man told police at 2:59 a.m. Saturday he was battered by a group of people in the 200 block of North Seventh Street. The victim was taken to Crossroads Community Hospital for treatment.

n A man told police at 10:25 a.m. Saturday his wife choked him in the 800 block of Airport Road. The victim refused medical treatment.

n A woman informed authorities at 1:20 p.m. Saturday she arrived home and found a hole in one of her windows, possibly from a BB gun. The incident took place in the 1800 block of Lamar Avenue.

n A caller reported to police at 7:57 p.m. Saturday hearing a loud single gunshot in the 1300 block of South 24th Street. Officers later determined juveniles in the neighborhood had made a “Drano bomb” and had detonated it in a yard, the police logs state. No injuries were reported.

n A female caller told police at 1:40 p.m. Sunday her son was hit in the face outside a business in the 400 block of Broadway.

n A woman told police at 3:58 p.m. Sunday she woke up on her couch to find a man in her residence stealing her wallet. The incident took place in the 4200 block of Heritage Landing.

n A woman informed police at 10:56 p.m. Sunday someone tried to force open her apartment door and someone threw rocks at her window. The incident occurred in the 900 block of Cleveland Street. Extra patrol was requested.

n A female caller requested police at 2:30 a.m. Monday regarding a male subject in her home who had battered her. The incident took place in the 100 block of East Casey Avenue.

Thefts

A man told police at 1:10 p.m. Friday several items were stolen from his residence in the 400 block of South 20th Street.

n A female employee reported a drive-off to police at 3:27 p.m. Friday at a gas station in the 3300 block of Broadway. The drive-off was in the amount of $20.

n A caller requested an officer at 11:22 p.m. Friday regarding a $500 metal hood vent that was stolen from a restaurant in the 100 block of South 27th Street.

n A man told police at 12:22 a.m. Saturday his coat and car keys were stolen from a bar in the 1600 block of Shawnee Street.

n A woman told police at 1:32 p.m. Saturday her wallet was stolen out of her vehicle in the 4200 block of Valley Forge Road.

Arrests

Angela Hammer, 44, of Bluford, was arrested at 9:55 a.m. Saturday on a charge of driving on a revoked license.

n Benjamin Dixon, 28, of Waltonville, was arrested at 3:42 p.m. Sunday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

n Jaime Bodine, 34, of the 1100 block of Welkins Street, was arrested at 5:07 a.m. Monday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

Incidents

Authorities responded to a call at 10 a.m. Sunday regarding six to eight male subjects fighting with sticks at the intersection of 11th Street and George Street.

n A battery was reported to police at 4:58 p.m. Sunday in the 17000 block of North Illinois Highway 37. The police logs did not provide any information on the circumstances surrounding this case.

n A subject told police at 7:09 a.m. Monday someone had entered a building in the 200 block of South Central Street in Woodlawn and stole cash.

Accidents

Authorities responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident at 10:10 a.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of East Illinois Highway 15 in Woodlawn. Police logs indicate the vehicle’s occupant was trapped inside and was transported to a local hospital. The occupant was not named in the police logs and the accident report was not available.

n Police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian accident at 5:30 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Dix Irvington Road and Illinois 37 in Dix. Pedestrian Linda Jean, 52, of Dix was reportedly crossing the road with her dog when she and her pet were hit by a truck driven by Reif Palmer, 56, of rural Mt. Vernon. Jean was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Her dog, however, did not survive. Palmer was cited for improper lane usage.
