n An employee of Autoplex in the 200 block of Main Street told police at 12:07 p.m. Monday someone purchased a car on a credit card and then stopped payment on the card. The employee reportedly is working with an attorney to get the vehicle returned.
Jefferson County authorities alerted city police at 12:35 p.m. Monday a driver for Budweiser had items stolen from a truck while making a delivery at the Elks Lodge. The driver told police within the hour his debit card had been used to purchase merchandise at Family Dollar. The business was turning over video to police for review, according to logs.
