---- — Mt. Vernon Police Arrests

Richard Blacklock, 19, of the 8000 block of North Spring Garden Lane, was arrested at 12:57 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of retail theft.

n Jonathan Graham, 28, of the 100 block of East Castleton Avenue, was arrested at 7:12 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of theft from a coin-operated machine.

n Muchmore Shayanowako, 33, of the 1500 block of Triangle, was arrested at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of domestic battery.

n Leslie Ferguson, 44, of the 700 block of George Street, was arrested at 9:17 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

Incident

A woman told police at 8:53 a.m. Tuesday she was the victim of an alleged battery occurring in the 400 block of South 20th Street.

Thefts

Loss prevention personnel at Wal-Mart reported at 12:07 p.m. Tuesday a male subject was in custody for alleged shoplifting.

n A man requested to speak to an officer at 1 p.m. Tuesday, stating bleacher boards were taken from the former Mt. Vernon Raceway in the 11000 block of North Wells Bypass Road.

n A woman requested to speak to an officer at 4:07 p.m. Tuesday in reference to unauthorized charges on her bank account.

County Sheriff

Arrests

Jennifer Summerville, 45, of the 400 block of South 20th Street, was arrested at 9:14 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of domestic battery and a warrant charging failure to appear.

n Kameron Tomshack, 21, Waltonville, was arrested at 11:37 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of disorderly conduct.

n James Phillips, 42, of the 1000 block of Warren Avenue, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. Tuesday on charges of disorderly conduct, domestic battery and possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams.

Accident

Deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident on Illinois 15 West at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Woodlawn Fire Department and Litton’s Ambulance were dispatched. Injuries were reported, although no one was transported to a hospital.

Incident

A caller told police at 8:58 p.m. Tuesday a woman came to a residence in the 16000 block of North Dogwood Point Lane claiming she was the victim of a battery. Logs indicated the victim was a runaway from the United Methodist Children’s Home. The victim was taken to Crossroads.
