Arrests

Jaime Bodine, 34, of the 1100 block of Welkins, was arrested at 1:21 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging failure to appear.

n Bryan Stroud, 19, Indianapolis, was arrested at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of driving under the influence.

n Grant Ponder, 40, Claxton, Ga., was arrested at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of disorderly conduct.

n Jessica Curlee, 26, Los Angeles, was arrested at 3:28 a.m. Wednesday on two counts of burglary.

Accidents

An 18-year-old Mt. Vernon teen was seriously injured in a car-pedestrian accident at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 26th Street and Veterans Memorial Drive.

According to police, Candy Kaufman, 31, of the 1700 block of South 30th Street, was eastbound on Veterans when Christopher Deaver of the 1300 block of South 26th Street ran out in front of the vehicle. Kaufman was unable to stop her vehicle and struck Deaver.

Deaver was first taken to Good Samaritan Regional Health Center and then airlifted to Cardinal-Glennon Hospital in St. Louis, according to police.

n A two-vehicle collision at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday sent a Mt. Vernon woman to a local hospital with injuries.

According to police, Tonika Little, 23, of the 600 block of Main Street, was southbound on South 10th Street, waiting to make a left turn onto Cleveland Avenue.

Brian Moles, 36, McLeansboro, was also southbound. He told police he was looking away, and when he looked forward, he saw the stopped vehicle. Moles struck the rear of Little’s vehicle. He was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Little was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Health Center, complaining of neck pain.

n Police responded to a three-vehicle accident at 7:48 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 42nd Street and Broadway. Three vehicles were involved and one landed on its side.

EMS responded, however, no one was transported after six refusals were signed at the scene.

Incidents

A female caller requested an officer at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday, stating someone tried to break into a residence in the 1400 block of South 12th Street.

n A man reported at 4:56 p.m. Tuesday fraudulent use of his credit card.

n A man reported at 5:11 p.m. Tuesday a business was burglarized in the 1000 block of Main Street.

Theft

Loss prevention personnel at K-mart reported at 11:53 a.m. Tuesday two juvenile females were in custody for alleged shoplifting.

Arrest

George Davis, 61, of the 900 block of Wescott, was arrested at 9:49 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of battery.

Incidents

A female subject reported at 9:37 a.m. Tuesday someone has driven through her ditch and took out several mail boxes in the 14000 block of East Bakerville Road.

n A subject reported at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday he came home to find several items missing from a residence in the 23000 block of North Old Centralia Lane, including guns.
