Police Department

Arrests

Kenneth Powell, 51, of the 400 block of Opdyke, was arrested at 8:23 a.m. Thursday on a charge of driving while license suspended/revoked.

n Roderick Oats, Mt. Vernon, was arrested at 10:02 a.m. Thursday on a warrant charging residential burglary.

n April Robinson, 35, Bonnie, was arrested at 9 p.m. Thursday on a charge of driving while license suspended/revoked.

Accident

A woman reported at 10:45 a.m. Thursday her car was hit while parked at a business in the 3300 block of Broadway.

Incidents

Two vehicles reported stolen from King City Chrysler early Friday were later recovered by Mt. Vernon Police. Both of the vehicles were found near the old Good Samaritan Hospital. An employee also reported a window was broken out at the business. Detectives continue to investigate the case.

n A man reported at 7:37 p.m. Thursday his 15-year-old son was allegedly battered an hour earlier.

Theft

A clerk at Circle K in the 2700 block of Broadway reported at 2:33 a.m. Friday a woman pumped fuel, but her credit/debit card would not work and she had no other means to pay. The clerk took information from the woman, who was to return to pay for the fuel, however, she never returned. Attempts by police to contact the woman also failed.

Arrest

Thomas Rector, 24, Zeigler, turned himself in at 10:49 a.m. Thursday on a Jefferson County warrant charging failure to appear.

Ashley Shelton McNeal, 25, McLeansboro, was arrested at 7:23 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving while license suspended/revoked and operation of an uninsured vehicle.
