Charges filed:

Lavell C. Elion, 20, of the 300 block of Casey Avenue, was formally charged May 30 with two counts of domestic battery enhanced and violation of an order of protection. The charges allege the defendant on April 16 struck his ex-girlfriend in the face, grabbed the victim’s hair and threw her to the ground and violated an order of protection by coming within 500 feet of the protected party. The defendant has a prior domestic battery conviction in Jefferson County, which led to the enhanced charges.

n James G. Jennings, 59, of the 800 block of South 14th Street, was formally charged Tuesday with aggravated driving under the influence and fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer. The charges allege on May 30 the defendant drove a vehicle under the influence when his driving privileges had been suspended and he drove away from a traffic stop after being given a verbal command to stop by an officer.

n Ryan M. Wilhelm, 23, of the 200 block of North Seventh Street, was formally charged Tuesday with aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. The charges allege on Oct. 9, 2013, the defendant discharged a firearm inside a building in the 800 block of South 21st Street knowing the building was occupied, possessed a firearm after a previous felony conviction and carried a pistol without a valid firearm’s identification card.

n John P. Beeson, 53, Salem, was formally charged on Tuesday with aggravated driving under the influence. The charge alleges the defendant drove a vehicle in Jefferson County under the influence after violating provisions of 625 ILCS 5/11-501.

n Jeffrey S. Watkins, 34, of the 900 block of South 20th Street, was formally charged Wednesday with domestic battery. The charge alleges on Tuesday the defendant pushed his live-in girlfriend into a wall and punched her in the mouth.

n Sylvia A. Owens, 28, of the 400 block of South 20th Street, was formally charged Wednesday with disorderly conduct. The charge alleges on Tuesday the defendant yelled repeatedly profanities toward a woman to provoke a breach of peace.

n Henry Barns, 50, Bluford, was formally charged Wednesday with domestic battery. The charge alleges on Tuesday the defendant shoved his wife, grabbed her by the hair and dragged her across a floor.

Dispositions:

Charles M. Church, 46, of the 14000 block of East Lake Estates Road, pleaded guilty May 29 to a charge of possession of a firearm with an expired FOID card. He was sentenced to 18 months of court supervision. Two counts of aggravated assault on public property were dismissed.

n Sierra D. Seeley, 29, Centralia, pleaded guilty May 29 to a charge of retail theft. She was sentenced to 18 months of court supervision.

n Anthony T. Wilborn, 35, of the 1300 block of South 18th Street, pleaded guilty May 29 to a charge of possession of cannabis between 2.5 and 10 grams. He was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge. Charges of domestic battery and possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams were dismissed.

n William T. Shields, 24, of the 800 block of Lamar, pleaded guilty May 30 to a charge of theft under $500. He was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge.

n Robert E. Baltimore, 26, of the 1200 block of South 24th Street, pleaded guilty May 30 to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge. A charge of possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams was dismissed.

n Brenda Anderson, 58, of the 800 block of South 19th Street, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was sentenced to 18 months to the Department of Corrections. A second drug charge was dismissed.

n Bryan S. Stroud, 19, Ina, pleaded guilty May 30 to a charge of driving under the influence. He was sentenced to 18 months of court supervision.

n Briana M. Southers, 26, of the 1100 block of Maple, pleaded guilty May 30 to a charge of driving under the influence. She was sentenced to 18 months of court supervision and 100 hours of public service.

n A charge of possession of a hypodermic needle/syringe was dismissed Tuesday against Jerry A. England, 37, of the 300 block of South Fourth Street.

n The State declined to prosecute a domestic battery charge filed against Joey R. Fairchild, 26, of the 1900 block of South Ninth Street.

n The State declined to prosecute a misuse of a credit card charge filed against Nacola L. Vannatta, 25, of Indianapolis.

n The State declined to prosecute two drug charges against Sheri A. Lunnemann, 32, of Nashville.
