Arrests

Tammy L. Kurtz, 41, Flora, was arrested at 4:12 p.m. Friday on a charge of retail theft.

n April R. Stevenson, 34, Flora, was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Friday on a charge of retail theft.

n Joshua D. Burton, 23, Centralia, was arrested at 5:16 p.m. Friday on a charge of retail theft.

n Jennifer N. Craig, 36, of the 300 block of Castleton, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Friday on charges of violation of bail bond, meth manufacturing more than 15 grams and possession of a controlled substance.

n Jamie A. Beal, 40, of the 14000 block of East Loyola Road, was arrested at 2 a.m. Saturday on a charge of driving while license suspended/revoked.

n Monty D. Dial, 48, of Hillside Drive, was arrested at 12:50 p.m. Saturday on a charge of driving while license suspended/revoked.

n Jason A. Gaunt, 25, of the 1900 block of Broadway, was arrested at 1:27 p.m. Saturday on a charge of driving with no license.

n Tesia N. Oliver, 26, of the 200 block of Castleton, was arrested at 3:26 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession of meth manufacturing materials.

n Kristin A. Jones, 27, of the 600 block of South 23rd Street, was arrested at 4:16 p.m. Saturday on a charge of driving while license suspended/revoked.

n Brenda J. Spillman, 55, of the 900 block of George Street, was arrested at 8:34 p.m. Saturday on a charge of driving while license suspended/revoked.

n Alexander L. Dinwiddie, 40, of the 1200 block of North 11th Street, was arrested at 9:38 p.m. Saturday on a charge of driving on an expired license.

Incidents

A man reported at 7:50 a.m. Saturday a woman he knows hit him in the head and arms with a board. An officer requested EMS to the 1000 block of South 23rd Street and the victim was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Health Center.

n A man reported at 8:19 p.m. Saturday a woman he knows punched him in the face and left on foot in the 400 block of South 20th Street.

n A woman told police at 11:35 p.m. Saturday while staying at a friend’s house in the 600 block of South 16th Street someone stole a television when the woman left the residence for a short period of time.

n A caller requested an officer at 5:50 a.m. Sunday to the 1500 block of South Ninth Street, claiming a female relative had been choked by a man known to the family. The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Health Center.

Accident

A woman told police at 10:24 a.m. Saturday her vehicle was struck by a van at a business in the 3400 block of Broadway. The male occupant of the van left the scene and was last seen westbound on Broadway.

Arrests

Billy R. Sharp, 18, Woodlawn, was arrested at 9:28 p.m. Friday on five counts of theft by deception, four counts of burglary and one charge of residential burglary.

n Blake L. Phelps, 18, Woodlawn, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Friday on five counts of theft by deception, four counts of burglary and one charge of burglary.

Accident

Traffic was backed up on Interstate 57, south of Mt. Vernon Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, 67-year-old Carolyn Smith of Chester was driving a truck hauling an RV camper trailer, when the trailer lost a wheel, causing the vehicle to run off the roadway and overturn.

The accident happened around 1:30 p.m., near the 88 and 89 mile markers, south of Mt. Vernon. No injuries were reported.
