Arrests

Nikko D. Branch, 22, of the 1000 block of South 25th Street, was arrested at 4:02 p.m. Monday on a charge of resisting/obstructing arrest.

n Heidi A. Hollensbee, 54, of the 1400 block of Salem Road, was arrested at 7:37 p.m. Monday on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Thefts

An elderly couple told police at 9:20 p.m. Monday a male subject with gloves took a screen off a window at their residence in the 2400 block of College Street, reached inside, and took an undetermined amount of jewelry.

n A female customer of Fifth Third Bank in the 2700 block of Broadway reported to an employee at 1:12 p.m. Monday $400 has been stolen from an account.

n A woman told police at 1:24 p.m. Monday her daughter’s wallet was stolen from a vehicle between 2 and 3 p.m. Friday.

n A male prisoner from the Jefferson County Justice Center told police at 2:19 p.m. Monday that someone is using his debit card without authorization.

Fires

Fire personnel responded to the report of a couch on fire outside a residence in the 800 block of South 21st Street at 8:27 p.m. Monday. The fire was tapped out within 11 minutes, according to police logs.

Arrests

Robert T. Hayes, 20, Bluford, was arrested at 5:42 p.m. Monday on a failure to appear warrant.

n Wayne A. Spotanski, 55, Scheller, was arrested at 7:13 p.m. Monday on a charge of battery.

n David D. Weatherall, 22, of the 4000 block of Willow Springs, was arrested at 8 p.m. Monday on a charge of battery.

Incidents

A woman came home at 4:04 p.m. Monday and found a garage door open at a residence in the 17000 block of North Idlewood Lane. Police secured the residence and nothing was discovered missing from the garage.

n A man alleges he was punched in the face three or four times by a man known to him at 5:32 p.m. Monday on Illinois Highway 148 at the Franklin County line.

Arrest

Thomas C. White, 20, Waterloo, was arrested at 5:23 p.m. Monday on an out of state warrant and a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle.
