Arrests

Justin Larcom, 24, of the 1000 block of Welkins, was arrested at 12:32 p.m. Thursday on two counts of domestic battery.

n Aaron Rudolph, 19, of the 1500 block of Logan Street, was arrested at 2:21 p.m. Thursday on charges of obstructing identification, possession of cannabis between 2.5 and 10 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and residential burglary.

n Regina Weccele, 37, Sims, was arrested at 3:04 p.m. Thursday on a charge of retail theft.

Thefts

A male subject told police at 10:46 a.m. Thursday a GPS was stolen from his vehicle overnight while parked in the 1900 block of Casey Avenue.

n Loss prevention personnel at Walmart reported shoplifters were in custody at 2:27 p.m. and 7:02 p.m.

n A woman requested an officer at 3:54 p.m. Thursday for an alleged theft occurring in the 800 block of South 21st Street.

Incident

A male subject reported at 2:14 p.m. Thursday prescription medications were taken from his vehicle while parked on the IGA parking lot in the 500 block of South 10th Street.

Fire

A man requested the fire department at 11:44 p.m. Thursday to Warwick Lane when he discovered smoke on the second floor of his home. The cause was found to be a faulty furnace.

Accidents

A Mt. Vernon woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 5:39 p.m. Thursday in the 4300 block of Broadway.

Police said Jennifer Barnett, 32, was rear-ended while traveling eastbound on Broadway. Nicole Y. Hayes of Waltonville, traveling behind Barnett, was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Barnett was taken to Crossroads Community Hospital with minor injuries.

n Police and EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident at 5:55 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Fairfield and Liebengood roads. Both lanes of traffic were reportedly blocked following the accident.

One person was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Health Center, although the name of the victim was not immediately known.

A report on the accident was not available from the MVPD.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office

Arrest

Adam Murdock, 30, of the 700 block of Main Street, was arrested at 12:27 p.m. Thursday on a charge of violation of bail bond.
