Arrests

Jeremy Jones, 22, of the 1200 block of South 24th Street, was arrested at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of retail theft.

n Jordan Porter, 19, of the 2700 block of Jones Street, was arrested at 7:41 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of retail theft.

n Xavier Mosley, 24, St. Louis, was arrested at 7:47 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of retail theft.

n David Watson, 19, of the 600 block of Conger Avenue, was arrested at 9:04 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

n Carlos Barnes, 19, of the 700 block of Conger Avenue, was arrested at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

n Kimberly Garrison, 27, of the 100 block of Hemlock Court, was arrested at 2:23 a.m. Thursday on a charge of violation of bail bond.

Incidents

An official from Ameren requested fire and police personnel at 1:42 p.m. Wednesday to a residence in the 900 block of Wescott full of gas. Ameren shut off the power and the fire department ventilated the residence.

n An emergency room worker requested an officer at 1:42 p.m. Thursday in reference to a woman being treated for an alleged battery earlier.

n The manager of the Circle K store on Potomac Boulevard requested an officer at 1:30 a.m. Thursday. The employee reported a co-worker showed up, reporting she was battered at another location earlier. The victim of the alleged battery was taken into custody by police on an Effingham County warrant.

Thefts

An employee of the Circle K store on South 10th Street reported at 6:30 p.m. a drive-off in the amount of $60.

n Loss prevention personnel at Kmart reported at 6:55 p.m. Thursday two male subjects were reportedly taking items off the store shelves. Police responded and took three individuals into custody.

Accident

Police responded to a one-vehicle accident at 2:41 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Broadway and 19th Street. Police logs indicate a power pole was struck. The motorist was taken to Crossroads Community Hospital after complaining of breathing problems. Identification of the driver was not immediately available.

Theft

A man reported at 8:41 p.m. Wednesday a Massey Ferguson tractor, trailer and tiller were taken from a residence on East Ragtime Road in Waltonville.

Incident

A woman reported at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday her daughter had allegedly been battered by a boyfriend in the 100 block of West Street in Woodlawn.
