Leon Kemmerling, 20, of the 800 block of South 21st Street, was arrested at 1:57 p.m. Thursday on a charge of retail theft.

n Rhonda J. Gresham, 41, Texico, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Thursday on a charge of retail theft.

n Stephen P. Blackwell, 47, homeless, was arrested at 7:53 p.m. Thursday on a charge of retail theft.

n Deric M. Washington, 22, of the 600 block of South 22nd Street, was arrested at 9:07 p.m. Thursday on a charge of no valid driver’s license.

n Elmer G. Long, 59, of the 900 block of Salem Road, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. Thursday on a charge of driving under the influence.

n Khirece D. Tucker, 21, of the 400 block of Forest, was arrested at 12:17 a.m. Friday on a charge of criminal trespassing to state supported property.


A woman reported hearing gunshots shortly before midnight Thursday in the 2500 block of College Street. Several officers were dispatched but did not locate anything in the area.


A man told police at 9:38 a.m. Thursday his wallet had been stolen from a residence in the 700 block of South 18th Street.

n An employee of Payless Shoes in the 400 block of South 42nd Street alerted police to an alleged shoplifting at 10 a.m. Thursday.

n A man told police at 11:18 a.m. Thursday a quarter panel was stolen from his semi while parked at a truck stop in the 4600 block of Broadway.

n A woman told police at 5:45 p.m. Thursday a Link card had been stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Castleton Avenue.

n An employee from Kmart requested an officer at 6:42 p.m. Thursday reporting a female in custody for shoplifting.

n An employee of Kroger requested an officer at 7 p.m. Thursday for a male in custody for shoplifting.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at 1:35 p.m. Friday in the 23000 block of Illinois Highway 37 North near Dix. Police logs indicated there were three injuries. No report was available at deadline.
