Lavena McChristian, 40, of the 1100 block of Wescott, was arrested at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday on a Marion County warrant charging failure to appear.

n Elgin D. Brown, 27, of the 1400 block of South 34th Street, was arrested at 5 a.m. Thursday on charges of domestic battery, aggravated domestic battery and interfering with a report of domestic violence.


Police were called to Mt. Vernon High School shortly before noon Thursday after two males were involved in an altercation. One of the males was taken to a local hospital when he reportedly had a tooth knocked out.

n A caller told police at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday a group of juveniles threw a cinder block through a window at a residence in the 600 block of South 18th Street.

n Multiple callers reported shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday hearing multiple shots in the area of 19th and Logan streets.

n A woman filed an attempted burglary report at 10:16 p.m. Wednesday for a residence in the 500 block of Short Street. Police logs indicated there was no physical evidence of an attempted burglary.


A subject filed a report at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday of a theft over $300.

n A woman told police at 6:44 p.m. Wednesday her purse had been taken at a business in the 100 block of Davidson Avenue. The contents of the purse included a wallet and work keys, police logs stated.


A caller reported at 6:30 p.m. seeing smoke from a transformer in the 800 block of Meadowbrook Drive. Ameren was notified and responded to the location at 7:25 p.m., logs state.


Police logs indicate an accident occurred at 10:28 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Rackaway and Perkins Avenue. One vehicle was reportedly stuck on railroad tracks, but not occupied. Two people were taken to Good Samaritan Regional Health Center for injuries, logs state. Names of those injured was not immediately available.

Ronnie W. Bradley, 45, address unknown, was arrested at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday on warrants charging failure to register as a sex offender and aggravated battery.

n Jeffery M. Presutti, 35, Ponoma, was arrested at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday on a Jackson County warrant charging meth manufacturing.

n Timothy S. Newell, 43, Aurora, was arrested at 6:28 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle.
