'Suspicious' fire on Jordan Avenue

Two men were injured at a fire that happened about 3:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon at 317 Jordan Avenue. According to Mt. Vernon Fire Department Assistant Chief Kevin Sargent, the mobile home was fully involved when firefighters arrived, and is under investigation as suspicious in nature. One man was treated by Litton Ambulance personnel for burns to both hands and his face at the scene of the fire, and the second man was treated for minor burns. Sargent said the investigation into the cause of the fire is a joint effort between the MVFD and the Mt. Vernon Police Department. One of the injured men is being questioned in relation to the fire.
