Two vehicle accident on 142

One person was taken to the hospital after a two vehicle accident that happened just before 9 a.m. on Illinois Route 142 west of the Continental Tire North America entrance. According to officials at the scene, a silver pickup truck was stopped behind a grain truck getting ready to pull off the roadway and into a field when a car rear-ended the pickup truck. The Mt. Vernon Fire Department was called to provide mutual aid for Jefferson Fire Protection District during the accident.
