Man dies in Nason home fire

NASON — A 38-year-old man died early Saturday morning in a home fire in Nason.
According to information from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received emergency calls of a home on fire and fully involved on Sixth Street in Nason at about 4:41 a.m. Saturday morning. Waltonville Fire Protection District was dispatched as well as deputies.
When firefighters arrived, the mobile home, located on the southeast corner of Sixth and Eaton Streets in Nason, was fully involved with the blaze, and little of the structure was remaining. A body was discovered in the remains of the residence.
The home was owned by Brian G. Osborn, 40, however police were able to determine that Osborn was at work in Coulterville. Police then determined that Kevin W. England, 38, frequently resided with Osborn. According to police, after investigating the information and discovering additional information pertaining to identification, it was confirmed that England had died in the fire.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arson investigator as well as the Illinois State Fire Marshal were dispatched to the scene when England’s body was discovered.
Jefferson County Sheriff Roger Mulch said foul play is not suspected in the fire, however, the Illinois State Fire Marshal, Waltonville Fire, the Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson County Coroner are continuing to investigate to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
