Mt. Vernon Police Department

Arrests

Jack Oliver, 47, of the 1400 block of South 26th Street, was arrested at 10:42 a.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court. Bond was set at $135 and Oliver was released.

Jason W. Duncan, 20, of the 200 block of Dogwood Street in Belle Rive, was arrested at 1:31 p.m. Thursday on a charge of theft. Bond for Duncan has been set at $1,000.

Lance R. Day, 19, of Jacksonville, Fla., was arrested at 6:32 p.m. Thursday on a charge of retail theft. Bond was set at $1,000 and Day was released.

James L. Phyfiher, 28, of the 400 block of 18th Street, was arrested at 6:38 p.m. Thursday on a charge of driving while license suspended/revoked. Bond was set at $1,000 and Phyfiher was released.

Jacob J. Brown, 23, of the 1400 block of White Street, was arrested at 9:42 p.m. Thursday on a charge of driving while license suspended/revoked. Bond was set at $1,000 and Brown was released.

Caroline S. Donovan, 35, of the 900 block of Ellis Drive, was arrested at 12:34 a.m. Friday on a charge of violation of bail bond/family member.

Thefts

Police received a report at 4:03 p.m. Thursday that a vehicle was broken into while parked at Mt. Vernon Township High School.

Fires

A report was made at 11:55 a.m. Friday that a stove was on fire in the 1900 block of Conger Avenue.



Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests

Jeremy L. Hardig, 26, of the 20000 block of North Miller Lake Lane in Texico, was arrested at 2:58 p.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic battery/prior/physical contact.

Michael L. Smith, 36, of the 400 block of Broadway, was arrested at 4:02 p.m. Thursday on an in-state warrant. Bond was set at $5,127 and Smith was released.

Christopher A. Killmer, 26, of River Grove, was arrested at 11:53 p.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court. Killmer was released.

Incidents

A report was made at 4:12 p.m. Thursday that a “narrow bridge” sign had been cut down on East Malecki Road in Bluford.

Fires

The sheriff’s office received a report at 11:42 p.m. Thursday that a house was on fire on North Abbott Lane in Belle Rive.
