Mt. Vernon Police Department
Arrests
Arkeith K. Stanton, 31, of the 700 block of South 20th Street, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Monday on charges of violating an order of protection/other prior and domestic battery/prior/physical contact. Bond for Stanton has been set at $7,500.
Navontae D. Nesbit, 20, of the 500 block of South 16th Street, was arrested at 12:35 a.m. Tuesday on charges of aggravated battery/public place and criminal damage to property/less than $300.
Romell D. Williams, 20, of the 500 block of South 18th Street, was arrested at 1:09 a.m. Tuesday on charges of aggravated battery/public place and criminal damage to property less than $300.
Anthony W. Rainey, 30, of the 400 block of South 24th Street, was arrested at 6:13 a.m. Tuesday on charges of domestic battery, contempt of court and domestic violence/interfering with a report. Bond for Rainey has been set at $10,000.

Thefts
A report was made at 3:02 p.m. Sunday that storage units were burglarized at Soapy Joe’s.
Police received a report at 3:11 p.m. Sunday that items were taken from a residence in the 500 block of Jay Drive and fraudulent charges had been made to a credit card.
A resident in the 3400 block of Westmont Street reported at 2:44 p.m. Monday that their XBox was stolen.
An employee of the Spot Tavern reported at 2:57 a.m. Tuesday that someone had burglarized their vehicle.
A resident in the 800 block of South 19th Street reported at 5:19 a.m. Tuesday they awoke to find their front door open and residence burglarized.
Police received a report at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday that a Penske rental truck had not been returned to Nave Distributing.

Incidents
A resident in the 800 block of South 19th Street reported at 6:48 a.m. Sunday that someone had spray painted words on their house, driveway and shed overnight.
A report was made at 5:48 p.m. Sunday that a water balloon hit a truck and broke its bug shield in the 1900 block of Conger Avenue.
A resident in the 800 block of South 22nd Street reported to police at 10:16 p.m. Sunday two family members were “jumped” at a different location.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office
Thefts
A report was made at 9:33 a.m. Monday a theft occurred in the 100 block of South Coffman Avenue in Bluford.
A resident in the 100 block of East Union Street in Waltonville reported at 12:54 p.m. Monday their chain saw and weed eater had been stolen.
A report was made at 12:24 a.m. Tuesday a theft occurred the previous night at Love’s Travel Stops.

Incidents
A resident in the 2600 block of Benton Road reported at 8:51 p.m. Saturday that someone had damaged their fence and signs.
The sheriff’s office received a report at 8:18 a.m. Sunday that two mailboxes were destroyed near the 11100 block of East Hutchison Road.
A resident in the 8900 block of East Casey Pike Road reported at 3 p.m. Sunday that someone had busted a window in their camper.
A report was made at 2:03 p.m. Tuesday that people were fighting at the Devil’s Prop parking lot.

Fires
The Jefferson Fire Protection District responded at 8:33 p.m. Saturday to a semi truck on fire at Lakeview BP in Ina.
A report was made at 3:11 p.m. Sunday that a field was on fire about two miles west of Woodlawn on East Illinois Highway 15. Woodlawn Fire Protection District responded to the scene.

Illinois State Police
Arrests
Alan D. Fleming, 24, of the 300 block of North 12th Street, was arrested at 12:39 p.m. Friday on a charge of contempt of court. Bond for Fleming has been set at $10,000.
Kimbra A. Lentz, 18, of Carterville, was arrested at 3:17 p.m. Saturday on a charge of criminal trespass to state land. Bond for Lentz has been set at $1,000.
