Mt. Vernon Police Department

Arrests

Brian R. Flenard, 21, was arrested at 2:16 a.m. Monday on charges of resisting a peace officer, mob action and intimidation.

Stacy N. Harris, 35, was arrested at 11:32 p.m. Sunday on charges of mob action, resisting a peace officer and criminal trespass to land.

Incidents

Police received a report at 5:52 p.m. Sunday that a fist fight between two juveniles was in progress at Veterans Park.

A resident in the 1100 block of Shawnee Street requested police listen to an alleged harassing message left on her answering machine at 6:12 p.m., which may have been related to a prowler reported earlier in the day.

A fight between two juveniles at Willow Springs was reported to police at 6:48 p.m. Sunday.

Two residents in the 2400 block of Lamar Avenue were warned not to ride 4-wheelers in the streets at 10:21 p.m. on Sunday.

Telephone and Internet harassment were reported from the 200 block of Grant Street at 3:58 a.m. Monday.

A resident in the 800 block of South 23rd Street reported at 12:59 p.m. Monday that a fight involving between two and four people with baseball bats and possibly handguns was in progress.

Damage to a residence in the 1100 block of Oakland Avenue was reported at 2:20 p.m. Monday.

Thefts

Money was reported stolen from a home in the 1000 block of South 21st Street at 10:09 p.m. on Sunday.

An attempted burglary of Showplace 8 was reported to police at 10:50 a.m. Monday.

Two trailers were confiscated by police from Effingham Truck Sales after a report was made at 1 p.m. Monday that the trailers had been reported as missing. One had been reported stolen by officials in Ohio.

Police responded to a report of a shoplifter at Wal-Mart at 2:15 p.m. Monday.

A customer walked out of Denny’s Restaurant without paying for his meal at 2:38 p.m. Monday.



Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests

Richard L. Poston, 19, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. Sunday on charges of criminal trespass to land and two charges of contempt of court.

Incidents

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 7:26 a.m. Sunday that cows were out near the 2800 block of North Alta Lane in Bonnie.

A fisherman on North Timbuktu Lane in Waltonville reported at 1:37 p.m. Sunday that when they returned to their car, the window had been broken.

A resident on South Broadway in Waltonville reported at 3:27 p.m. Sunday that two children were riding mo-peds in the street.

Stop signs were reported as ran over at North Oklahoma Lane and Malecki Road in Bluford and at Harmony Lane and Malecki Road. Both signs had been temporarily put back in place by Webber Township Road Commissioner, according to reports.

Thefts

A resident in the 17100 block of East Ranch Road reported at 5:19 a.m. Sunday that a Toyota Avalon had been stolen from their driveway.

A pair of jeans were reported stolen from the 19800 block of North Harmony Lane at 12:08 p.m. Sunday. According to police, a pair of jeans were laid outside at about 11 a.m. Sunday to dry and when the owner went to get them, they were gone. The jeans were described as Wranglers, with ink stains on the seat.

Fires

Woodlawn Fire Protection District responded to a grass Fire in the 15600 block of Woodlawn Lane at 1:33 p.m. on Sunday. Tri-County Electric Cooperative were called to the scene due to a pole and links from the main power feed being damaged.
