Mt. Vernon Police Department

Arrests

Andrew L. Mazar, 33, of the 800 block of South 22nd Street, was arrested at 3 p.m. Monday on charges of contempt of court and obstruction of justice by destroying evidence. Bond for Mazar has been set at $3,000.

Jaleesa J. Rollins, 17, of the 500 block of South 17th Street, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Monday for retail theft over $150. Bond for Rollins has been set at $5,000.

Ta Drianna Gladney, 17, of the 1700 block of South 12th Street, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Monday for retail theft over $150. Bond for Gladney has been set at $5,000.

Brandois L. Bullock, 28, of the 300 block of South Third Street, was arrested at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of contempt of court. Bond for Bullock has been set at $1,500.

Incidents

A resident in the 800 block of South 19th Street told polce they heard five gunshots and children running and screaming at 10:05 p.m. Sunday.

A report was made at 8:09 a.m. Monday of a forced entry into a building in the 1400 block of South 10th Street.

A resident in the 3400 block of Veterans Memorial Drive reported at 11:22 a.m. Monday the window of their car had been broken out overnight.

A resident in the 3410 block of Veterans Memorial Drive reported an incident of damage to their car at 12:59 p.m. Monday.

At 2:46 p.m. Monday, an employee of J.C. Penny reported six youth setting off firecrackers inside the store.

An employee of CVS Pharmacy reported two people were begging for money in the business parking lot on Monday.

Fires

Police responded to a call at 9:15 p.m. Monday from a resident at the 600 block of 23rd Street about a neighbor burning a large pile in their front yard. Police found no fire, and the caller said it had been put out.

Police responded to a small dryer fire at 11:30 p.m. Monday at the 1010 block of Pace Avenue.



Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office

Thefts

A trucker reported at 3:19 a.m. Tuesday that his wallet had been stolen from his truck while he was sleeping in it at Love’s Travel Stops in Ina.

A resident in the 500 block of Cross Street, Ina, reported a stolen envelop containing $45 they had left between the front door and the screen of their house.

Incidents

A resident in the 19700 block of North Stratford Lane reported at 11:50 p.m. Sunday that a neighbor had been shooting off fireworks toward their house for the last three days, and that one nearly hit the resident in the head.

A report was made at 5:46 a.m. Monday that four-wheelers were being driven on the road and on private property on East Kowalski Road in Scheller.

A resident in the 100 block of Brown Street, Ina, reported at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday that their pool had been slashed and vandalized.

Police received a call at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday from a person who said their three-year-old granddaughter was locked in the car in her carseat at the 20220 block of North Old Centralia Lane in Dix.

Arrests

Regina L. Gordon, 34, of the 200 block of Castleton Avenue, was arrested at 6:37 p.m. Monday on a charge of contempt of court. Bond for Gordon has been set at $3,000.
