Commercial building tops $750,000 in June

MT. VERNON — Commercial building in the city topped more than $750,000 in June, with residential building coming in at $123,000.

The lion’s share of commercial building is a surgery renovation project being undertaken by St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital, estimated at a cost of $475,000. A $250,000 project makes up the remainder, and is a commercial building being constructed by Mt. Vernon Crossing LLC at 101 Davidson Avenue.

Residential projects that were started in June were:

n Lester Kline, 822 Park Ave., to construct a car port at an estimated cost of $1,500;

n Charles Given/Herzing Construction, 20 Northbrook Dr., to construct a home addition at an estimated cost of $20,000;

n Barry and Betty Pate, 1609 S. 15th St., to set a mobile home at an estimated cost of $82,823;

n Adam J. Deadmond, 401 S. 32nd St., to place an above-ground pool at an estimated cost of $400;

n Sam Totten, 2000 Lake St., to slope a roof over an existing patio at an estimated cost of $1,250;

n Carol Frasier, 1220 S. 16th St., to set a mobile home and a storage shed at an estimated cost of $16,000;

n Trevor Wilson, 1815 Stanley, to build a storage shed at an estimated cost of $250;

n Robert White, 30 Fairway Dr., to construct a garage at an estimated cost of $15,000; and

n James J. Nichols III, 1920 Olive St., to construct a one-car garage at no estimated cost.

Signage permits issued in June were:

n Willow Springs/T. Ham Sign Co., 4100 Willow Springs, to place a sign at an estimated cost of $2,740;

n Leisure Times Pool and Spas, 610 S. 42nd St., to move existing signs at an estimated cost of $1,500; and

n Wal-Mart, 110 Davidson to replace material on a sign at an estimated cost of $3,120.

Demolition permits granted in June were:

n Jim Yourkoukos, 301 Broadway, to demolish a storage shed; and

n Jefferson County, 311 Johnson Alley, to demolish a storage building.
