MT. VERNON — Three youths were injured and two of them airlifted to an undisclosed hospital Friday night after a rollover on the Belle Rive blacktop.
According to reports from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Jonathan K. Padget, of the 17400 block of East Liberty Road, was driving a red Ford Ranger pickup truck with four passengers on the road when it left the roadway and rolled over at approximately 9:21 p.m. on East Ina Road, also known as the Belle Rive blacktop, about seven or eight miles south of Belle Rive. Reports state that when deputies arrived, one of the injured passengers was able to walk but had cuts, one had a head injury and was complaining of pain and a third victim was on the ground unable to move — as they had been ejected from the vehicle during the accident.
Passengers in the vehicle were listed as Anthony D. Applegate, 25, of the 500 block of South 24th Street; Andrew Bradley Applegate, 19, of the 500 block of South 24th Street; a 16-year-old female; and Tiffany R. Pitman, 17, of the 14100 block of North County Farm Lane. Police have not released information on which passengers were airlifted for treatment at this time.
