Time for a snack

District 80 students look through backpacks filled with snacks and food they received for the Labor Day weekend through the first distribution of Nutrition on Weekends. With help from Park Avenue Food Pantry and United Way of South Central Illinois, the program helps ensure children have food for three-day weekends and holiday breaks. NOW is part of the 21st Century Stars Academy, an after school program which provides dinner, recreation, study time and transportation home. To learn more about the after-school program or to get involved with NOW, contact Bethany Shaw at bshaw@mtv80.org or 316-9258.
