Margie Schwartz’s fifth grade class at J.L. Buford Intermediate Center donated $55.67 to the school’s drive to raise money for gift cards to be sent to local military personnel stationed in war zones. The total raised at the school was $191.84. Dr. Judii York and Joyce Poorman of Jefferson County Operation Iraqi Freedom, visited the class to collect the funds on Oct. 2.
