Mt. Vernon Police Department

Arrests

James R. Roy, 21, of the 17000 block of North Tolle Lane, was arrested Sunday at 5:44 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Micheal A. Murphy, 67, of the 100 block of Lincoln Drive, was arrested Saturday at 7:45 p.m. on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Bond was set at $1,000.

Jennifer A. Moon, 37, of the 1600 block of South 13th Street, was arrested Saturday at 12 p.m. on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Alandis L. Stevenson, 23, of the 1000 block of South 26th Street, was arrested Saturday at 7:41 a.m. on a charge of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, park or church. Bond was set at $40,000.

Cameal H. Derixson, 27, of the 11000 block of Wilshire Drive, was arrested Saturday at 4:23 a.m. on charges of burglary, resisting a peace officer, obstructing an officer and possession of burglary tools. Bond was set at $50,000.

Vincent E. Justice, 20, of the 1700 block of North Grove Avenue, was arrested Friday at 9:29 p.m. on a charge of domestic battery. Bond was set at $10,000.

Jason F. Stiefel, 30, of the 2200 block of Casey Avenue, was arrested Friday at 5:52 p.m. on charges of retail theft and contempt of court. Bond was set at $13,000.

Brandon F. Page, 29, of the 1300 block of George Street, was arrested Friday at 1:36 a.m. on charges of burglary of a residence, criminal trespassing to a residence where a person is present and unlawful restraint. Bond was set at $25,000.

Phillip A. Sexton, 30, of the 800 block of South 22nd Street, was arrested Monday at 1:12 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Bond was set at $1,000 and Sexton was released.

Michael R. Streiff, 33, of the 800 block of Apricot Avenue, was arrested Monday at 12:57 a.m. on a charge of possession of cannabis and an in-state warrant. Bond was set at $3,000 and Streiff was released.

Lena R. Burk, 21, of the 300 block of South Second Street, was arrested Sunday at 10:31 p.m. on a charge of driving with a suspended/revoked license. Bond was set at $1,000 and Burk was released.

Kandi J. Hardig, 23, of the 100 block of Casey Avenue, was arrested Sunday at 8:14 p.m. on charges of contempt of court and driving with a suspended/revoked license. Bond was set at $4,000 and Hardig was released.

Danielle L. Vineyard, 17, of McLeansboro, was arrested Saturday at 10:39 p.m. on an in-state warrant. Bond was set at $5,000 and Vineyard was released.

Thefts

Tuesday at 12:49 p.m., police responded to a report of medication being taken from a residence in the 1000 block of South 23rd Street.

Tuesday at 3:46 p.m., police responded to a report of a shoplifter at Kmart.

Incidents

Monday at 5:58 p.m., police responded to a report of windows broken in the 900 block of Cleveland Street.

Monday at 9:37 p.m., police responded to a report of someone breaking a lock on a building in the 800 block of Broadway.

Tuesday at 3 a.m., police responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 1500 block of Shawnee Street.

Tuesday at 3:03 p.m., police responded to a report of someone vandalizing a home in the 900 block of South Sixth Street.



Jefferson County Sheriffs Office

Arrests

Tony A. Woodward, 36, of the 2900 block of South 13th Street, was arrested Sunday at 6:30 p.m. on a charge of contempt of court. Bond was set at $10,000.

Jared A. Cato, 28, of the 100 block of Cottonwood Drive, was arrested Saturday at 2:50 a.m., on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Thefts

Saturday at 12 p.m., police responded to a report of a theft of a motor vehicle in the 23000 block of North Old Centralia Lane in Walnut Hill.

Tuesday at 7:05 a.m., police responded to a report of retail theft at the Woodlawn Shell Station.

Incidents

Friday at 11:52 p.m., in the 21000 block of North Tolle Lane, Texico, police responded to a report of criminal damage to property.

Saturday at 11:18 p.m. police responded to a report of mischievous conduct in the 13000 block of North Link Lane.

Sunday at 12:12 p.m., police responded to a report of criminal damage to property in the 2400 block of North Log Cabin Lane in Ina.

Monday at 12:49 p.m., police responded to a report of a large brown and white cow running in the road on East Illinois Highway 15 in Bluford.

Monday at 2:43 p.m., police responded to a report of trespassing in the 19000 block of Tolle Lane.

Monday at 6:18 p.m., police responded to a report of criminal damage to property in the 100 block of Hayse Street in Bonnie.

Accidents

Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident Friday at 8:05 a.m. at the intersection of North Tolle Lane and East Salem Church Road. Roy B. Austin, 48, of Texico, was attempting to pass Tracy A. Stone, 31, of Bluford, when Austin’s vehicle hydroplaned and struck Stone’s vehicle, according to police reports. No injuries were reported.

Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident Friday at 2:50 p.m. on Illinois Highway 15 east of North Presley Lane. Leah J. Windings, 19, of the 100 block of Pecan Court, was stopped westbound on Illinois Highway 15, preparing to turn onto North Presley Lane. According to reports, James R. Schubert II, 26, of the 7500 block of East Heisman Road, was approaching Winding’s vehicle and struck it from behind. No injuries were reported.

Fires

Monday at 12:37 p.m., police responded to a report of an equipment fire in the 500 block of East South Street in Dix.



Illinois State Police

Arrests

Joe G. Chapman, 61, of Nashville, Tenn., was arrested Sunday at 12:22 p.m. on a charge of driving with a suspended/revoked license and an in-state warrant. Bond was set at $6,000 and Chapman was released.
