Mt. Vernon Police Department

Arrests

Michelle L. Morales, 41, of Wayne City, was arrested Wednesday at 10:35 p.m. on charges of contempt of court and retail theft. Bond was set at $1,500.

Reginald J. Garrett, 35, of the 600 block of South 17th Street, was arrested Thursday at 12:53 a.m. on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspend-ed/revoked license. Bond was set at $2,000 and Garrett was released.

Daleena Miller, 18, of the 600 block of South 24th Street, was arrested Wednesday at 11:34 p.m. on a charge of driving on a suspended/revoked license. Bond was set at $1,000 and Miller was released.

Joshua R. Hufford, 23, of the 1200 block of North 10th Street, was arrested Wednesday at 4:13 p.m. on a charge of criminal damage to property. Bond was set at $1,000 and Hufford was released.

Incidents

Thursday at 9:13 a.m., police responded to a report of credit card fraud in the 200 block of Cottonwood Drive.

Thursday at 9:26 a.m., police responded to a report of an illegal bonfire in the 1100 block of Wilshire Drive.

Thursday at 12:25 p.m., police responded to a report of an illegal fire in the 300 block of Coborn Street.

Police responded to a report of an illegal burn Thursday at 1:17 p.m. in the 1700 block of Warren Drive. Residents were burning leaf piles in the street, according to reports.

Wednesday at 9:07 p.m., police responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at the Wal-Mart Super Center.

Fires

Wednesday at 8:16 p.m., police and Mt. Vernon Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in the 2000 block of College Street. A stove was on fire.



Jefferson County Sheriffs Department

Incidents

Thursday at 11:05 a.m., police responded to a report of a burglary in the 18000 block of Old Centralia Lane. An unoccupied rental property was broken into, according to reports.

Thursday at 2:48 p.m., police responded to a report of a fraud in the 10000 block of East Garden Road. A person’s name was used to obtain a credit card and use it for purchases without their consent, according to reports.



Illinois State Police

Arrests

Michael C. Whitfield,37, of Black Jack, Mo., was arrested Wednesday at 12:54 p.m., on an out-of-state warrant.

Travis T. Holder, 26, of Ina, was arrested Wednes-day at 5:59 p.m. on a charge of driving on a suspen-ded/revoked license. Bond was set at $1,000 and Holder was released.
