MT. VERNON — —
Cedarhurst’s Got Talent and one talented winner will be taking home $500 and bragging rights for a year on Nov. 10 at the second annual fundraiser for Cedarhurst Center for the Arts.
Hillary Settle, director of development at Cedarhurst, said there are eight finalists in the show. There will be vocalists, instrumentalists and even a hoop dancer who will all be competing for the top spot.
“It should be a good show the way we have it set up,” Settle said. “We did get a very good response last year. Obviously, we are hoping to build on that this year.”
The event is a fundraiser for Cedarhurst, Settle said. The money raised will be used for programming in 2013, which includes the children’s programs, the concert series, special events, among other programming.
Tickets for the show will be on sale until the middle of the week, Settle said, and they do have to be purchased in advance. Those who wish to purchase tickets can either go to Cedarhurst or call 242-1236, ext. 225. The ticket price is $50 for members of Cedarhurst and $55 for non-members. The tickets are all inclusive and include a social hour with a cash bar and silent auction, dinner and the talent show.
Performers in this year’s show are: Gret Barker-Morrison, of Woodlawn, Terry McAlexander, of Mt. Vernon, Adria Rose McConaughay, of Bluford, Jarrett Harris, of Salem, Samantha Krugler, Alyssa Moore, of Mt. Vernon, Shaley Jade Jourdan, of Salem and Derek Smith, of Mt. Vernon. The winner of last year’s show will also be giving a special performance during the show, Settle said.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m., the dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m. For more information visit www.cedarhurst.org or call 242-1236.
