MT. VERNON — This year's Operation Love project provided more than 620 hot meals to area residents in need.
The meals were delivered Monday afternoon. Volunteers gathered at the Mt. Vernon Elks Lodge earlier that day to prepare the meals.
The annual program was established by John Paul and Johnna Braswell. It is funded through the Elks Lodge and private donations.
Volunteers delivered the meals to several sites in Mt. Vernon, including Rome Meadows, Rose Lane, Garden Glen, Lifeboat Alliance and the United Methodist Children's Home.
