“Our water tower is also located on the property, and the JCDC, by giving it to us, will no longer have to pay property taxes on it,” Neibert said. “It will then give us ownership of the property the water tower is on.”

Neibert said there is still property in the parcel for development, and that area will be available for sale on behalf of JCDC.

Councilman David Wood clarified that the city knew the water tower was on the property from the beginning and it has always been the plan for the city to be given the property at some point.
