The Shop It Here! program is being extended through January.
The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce on Friday announced the program will extend into January, and the grand prize drawings will be distributed during the “State of the City” address by Mt. Vernon Mayor Mary Jane Chesley on Jan. 17.
“We are excited to extend the program another month, because we don’t want to miss any of the shopping season,” said Brandon Bullard, Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce executive director. “We want our Chamber members to get all the exposure possible, and their customers to get more chances to win. Many holiday shopeers make trips out of town looking for the perfect gifts, and we want those shoppers to know everything they need for this holiday season can be found right here in Jefferson County.”
Drawings will be held for prizes, including a St. Louis Cardinals rug from One Stop Flooring America and other items from Lowe’s during the Christmas luncheon, as well as $250 in groceries from Kroger, $250 in flooring from One Stop Flooring America, and $500 cash.
Participating locations can be located by yellow “Shop It Here” signs, and are also listed on southernillinois.com, information states.
Businesses can still sign up to participate in Shop It Here as well, information states.
National Small Business Day is Nov. 24, and the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce encourages everyone to give Jefferson County businesses their support during the holiday season and year-round.
