Construction in Nov. tops $10M

MT. VERNON — — Construction in November topped more than $10 million in the King City, with $10.13 million in commercial construction.

Building for the month got a huge boost on Nov. 1, when Continental Tire the Americas received its permit to construct an addition for a manufacturing mixing building at the facility at 11525 N. Illinois Highway 142.

A second boost in commercial construction permits came from tenants of the new Good Samaritan Regional Health Center, who are working on individualizing spaces. Good Samaritan Neurology, 2 Good Samaritan Way, Fourth Floor, is making improvements with an estimated cost of $423,000; Good Samaritan Heart and Vascular, 2 Good Samaritan Way, is making tenant improvements at an estimated cost of $987,000; and Good Samaritan Retail Pharmacy, 2 Good Samaritan Way, First Floor, is making improvements estimated at $134,000. In addition, Good Samaritan Regional Health Center received a permit for 1 Good Samaritan Way to install a sign at an estimated cost of $250,000.
