MT. VERNON —
Residents will have the opportunity to step back in time and experience the Christmas season as it was when Jesus was born through a live, multi-scene nativity presented by Logan Street Baptist Church.
“Bethlehem” will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Logan Street North 42nd Street campus.
“This is the first time we’ve done this,” said Logan Street Worship Pastor Brian Fuller. “This year is a trial run for a bigger production we’re planning for next year, so this will be an abbreviated walk-through. Next year, the plan is to do a full-blown production, with a journey through Bethlehem.”
This year’s production will feature several scenes for visitors, each with live animals and real people. At the end of the walking tour, those attending will be able to go inside the Logan Street Baptist Church Pavilion and enjoy live Christmas music and a children’s area.
“The children’s area is set aside for them to build crafts and gifts they might want to give this year,” Fuller explained. “The live Christmas music will be performed by a few groups that are taking turns playing music. We also have a place we are calling Emmanuel Cafe, where we will be serving warm and cold drinks and refreshments. That will be taking place in the pavilion, which is heated.”
