MT. VERNON — Mt. Vernon Township High School received a clean audit report for fiscal year 2013, said auditor Jim Leuty of Krehbiel & Associates.
Leuty presented the audit's findings at a meeting Tuesday of the MVTHS Board of Education's Finance Committee. He informed committee members that the district earned an overall financial profile score of 3.15, down from last year's 3.45. A perfect score would have been 4.0.
With this score, MVTHS is in the state category known as "financial review." This means the district's finances may be open for review by the Illinois State Board of Education to determine if there are any negative trends.
The drop in MVTHS' audit score is mainly attributable to the district taking on additional long-term debt from the new school project, Leuty said.
