Shooting incident reported at Days Inn

---- — MT. VERNON — Mt. Vernon Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Tuesday night at the Days Inn, 205 Potomac Blvd.

According to police logs, a Days Inn employee reported hearing about six gunshots at 8:04 p.m.

Right around this time, hotel guests also witnessed several subjects running into the nearby Quality Inn and saw a metallic blue Impala leave the parking lot at a high rate of speed, the log states.

Another witness said he saw a male suspect with a blue hoodie jump into a full-size gold four-door Ford truck, the log states.

An employee from the adjacent Hampton Inn told police one of the guest rooms had bullet holes in it. However, no injuries were reported in connection to this incident.

The case remains under investigation and no arrests had yet been made Wednesday afternoon.

Police declined to comment at length on the circumstances leading up to the incident, other than to say it involved a conflict between two parties.
