Charges filed

n Casey L. Mellott, 18, Dix, was formally charged Oct. 17 with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

n Charles T. Payton, 20, of the 2400 block of College, was formally charged Oct. 21 with unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges allege the defendant had more than 10, but not more than 30 grams of cannabis and he possessed a digital scale for the purpose of weighing the cannabis.

n Colt T. Lee, 19, Johnston City, was formally charged Oct. 21 with unlawful consumption of liquor by a minor and disorderly conduct. The disorderly charge alleges the defendant yelled and cursed at a Rend Lake primitive campground to provoke the peace.

n Eric O. Bird, 35, of the 1000 block of South 13th Street, was formally charged Oct. 23 with obstructing identification, resisting a peace officer and battery. The charges allege the defendant furnished a false name to police, he pulled away from an officer in an attempt to avoid being handcuffed and he made physical contact with a woman in that he grabbed her buttocks.
