The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual community day with the Southern Illinois Miners.
The Chamber sold tickets to its members and the general public as a fundraising effort and community-wide event for everyone to enjoy. Chamber Executive Director Brandon Bullard, Chamber President Bob Feltmeier and Tony Wielt, vice president of the Special Events Council, threw out the first pitches of the evening.
St. Mary's Church Choir, under the direction of Mary Beth Mezo, sang the National Anthem, and Jefferson County's own Bryson Minor announced to the crowd and the teams that it was time to "play ball." During the seventh inning stretch, the Chamber of Commerce was awarded a check for $860.
