Other appointments approved include: Bill Armstrong to the 708 Mental Health Board, John “Eddie” Lee to the Mt. Vernon Airport Authority, and Jeff Williams, Mary Brown, JoAnne Cox and Jan Pigg were re-appointed to the Round Knoll Cemetery Board.
IN OTHER ACTION:n The monthly fuel bid was awarded to Synenergy.
n The board approved the assignment of health insurance carriers to quoting agents. Bids will be received by the county clerk through 4 p.m. Nov. 12.
n Resolutions were approved to honor the county’s Senior Saints.
n A resolution to not amend the Illinois Constitution to permit a graduated income tax was adopted. Board member Jeremy Hall voted in opposition, noting he is consistently not going to vote in favor of resolutions in which the county has “no control.”
n The county approved locking in an 18-month electric rate with Affordable Gas & Electric and its local representatives, Jeff Haarmann and Rob Wielt, to secure low rates with a large group, which includes the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. The current contract expires in December.
