MT. VERNON — A Candidates Forum, co-sponsored by the Business and Profession Women Club and the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, will take place Tuesday night at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building at Veterans Park.
Ccandidates attending will represent those running for City Council, City Treasurer, Township Supervisor, as well as a representative to speak on the electric aggregation referendum.
A meet-and-greet will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with the forum starting at 7 p.m.
“The Forum proper will consist of Affordable Gas and Electric talking about the Electric Aggregation referendum, questions for our city council candidates and questions for our township supervisor candidates,” stated Brandon Bullard, Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce executive director. “Questions from the public can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or turned in that evening before 6:30 p.m.”
Those who have committed to being a part of the Candidates Forum are city council candidates Todd Piper, Dennis McEnaney, Donte Moore and David Morgan; treasurer candidate Mary Jo Pemberton; and Mt. Vernon Township Supervisor candidates Amanda Bean and Jason Hulbert. The candidates will be joined during the meet-and-greet portion of the evening by township trustee candidates David Edmison and Nick LeMay.
The forum is being held two weeks prior to the Consolidated Election Day, which is April 9.
