VERNON — — Grade school classes, groups and organizations competed to win a pizza party for the best decorated tree contest in the Festival of Trees, held at United Methodist Children’s Home on Friday. Attendees had three votes to spend on their favorites of the variety of festive firs, pines and spruces, and entered to win a decorated tree. Schools with more than one class or club in the contest were entered to win a Best in School award.
